Musings from the road less traveled…

Household of Faith (update 4/18)

We are in the process of reviving our ministry organization even as I prepare to begin to hold teaching meetings and seminars again. Household of Faith Ministries was incorporated as a tax-exempt, 501(c)(3) ministry in the state of New York in 1995. The purpose of Household of Faith is to assist local churches in teaching and training believers, while being a prophetic, scriptural teaching voice to the body of Christ around the earth.

We began as an itinerant teaching ministry, conducting services and seminars in the northeastern part of the United States. In December, 1990, Margaret and I sensed God’s call to go to Africa. In Africa we worked with national pastors in their churches. I was privileged to conduct many in-depth courses in bible schools in Botswana and South Africa, and participate in crusades and seminars throughout the sub-continent.

We returned to North America at the turn of the century. I began graduate studies in theology at Regent College, in Vancouver, BC. In that season of instruction, it seemed good to us not to press on with our ministry.  Instead, I volunteered in local churches in a variety of capacities, and had frequent opportunities to teach.

The time has now come to renew our wider outreach to the body of Christ. I am preparing new teaching materials and courses. Our aim is to assist the Church in establishing authentic disciples, by offering in-depth teaching to establish biblical and doctrinal literacy, and practical instruction in spiritual disciplines and practices.

In the past we offered tape series and printed teaching materials, including a monthly teaching magazine entitled, The Lamp. While I will always retain my the old tape masters, it is unlikely that any of them will be released for sale again.  Times and technologies have changed, and my theology has deepened and matured. It is time for new material and new means of distribution. I am currently hard at work on a book on Paul’s exhortations to young Christians. But I am writing some courses which we may make available on-line. Time will tell.

In the meantime, we will be introducing the ministry to churches and pastors again. We covet your prayers. And we appreciate your recommendations and advice. Soli Deo gloria—to God alone be the glory!
